How To Download Wii Games From Your Computer!

With the Nintendo Wii continuing to fly off the shelves, we thought it would be worthwhile to put together a guide that you can follow to download Wii games. As I'm sure you know, buying new games from the store can get expensive. By downloading Wii games you can save a good chunk of money and always have a way to get that new game you want to try.

Downloading Wii games is a fairly new trend. In fact, the majority of Wii owners aren't aware of the how easy it is to download games for their systems. When we polled our readers about this, many had heard of downloading games or music but they didn't realize that you could actually find full game versions for download. Most people seemed to think that they could only find partial game versions or extremely old games for download.

The good news is that you can find full games online for downloads including new releases and the most popular ones out there. The selection is impressive and we should warn you right off the bat - it's highly addictive!

Ok - let's get to it! Here's how you can download Wii games.

First off, we should give you a warning about websites that advertise "free Wii downloads". There's a few of them out there and for the most part, they need to be avoided.

What you'll find with these sites is that they are simply a network of files uploaded by random users. Anyone can add any file they want and the submissions are completely unmonitored. This causes all sorts of problems - there are viruses, spyware and other infections running rampant on these sites. There are also many files that are listed as a game, however once you download the file it ends up being corrupted or something completely different.

These sites cause a lot of headaches and put your computer at risk - stay away from them!

Instead, if you're interested in downloading Wii games you will want to look into joining a membership based website. There are specialty download websites that let you download unlimited games when you join as a member.

These websites are regulated and run by businesses that want to keep their customers happy, so all the game files work, are virus clean and the download speeds are fast.

The cost to join these sites vary - you can expect to pay around $50. This is a one-time fee that gives you full access to their members area. You are then consider a lifetime member and can download as many games as you want, whenever you want.

A quick note of caution - there are some sites that charge monthly fees or "per-download" fees. I wouldn't join these simply because they end up being more expensive than buying a membership.

If you're worried that you won't know how to use the games once they are downloaded, you can take comfort in the fact that these sites will give you exact instructions on getting the games to work on your Wii. You will also get the software you need to transfer the games onto your system.

The better sites will give you a moneyback guarantee so that you can try them out and see how it goes. As we said before, once you get in the habit of downloading Wii games it's extremely addictive!

Reduce RAM use in Firefox

Now, this is by no means a REAL fix for the Firefox memory leak, but it certainly does appear to help it quite a bit. This little fix will move Firefox to your hard drive when you minimize it, and as a result it will take up less than 10MB of memory while minimized. So far, from my experiences with using this today, when you maximize Firefox it will obviously increase the memory usage. However, it does not seem to go back up to the insane amount that it was at before minimizing it. For example, Firefox was at 180MB of memory usage and then I minimized it and after a few seconds I maximized it. After maximizing it and continuing on my routine business it appeared to only have gone up to 60MB. This seems to be a good solution for me right now since I frequently maximize and minimize Firefox anyways.

Now I know many people will say that Firefox will take longer to maximize since it will be located on the hard drive, but I haven’t noticed ANY delays. It is able to redraw itself just as quickly as if it was located in the ram (in my experience). Okay, now here are the few simple steps:

  1. Open Firefox and go to the Address Bar. Type in about:config and then press Enter.
  2. Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean.
  3. In the box that pops up enter config.trim_on_minimize. Press Enter.
  4. Now select True and then press Enter.
  5. Restart Firefox.

See how quick and painless that was? At any rate you can always go back and delete the same setting that you just created if you start to experience any issues. I have also set the browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers value to 0 because that will prevent Firefox from caching pages for the back button. This is also supposed to free up some memory that gets stolen.

This fix also works for Thunderbird

How To Curb Overspending In Teens

You may or may not know it, but more and more kids these days are oblivious to the global economic dilemma we're going through and are spending their money, or rather their parents money, on useless and expensive junk. There's an increasing number of kids out there who are falling for marketing tactics designed especially for the youth, who seem to be more gullible when it comes to buying stuff.

Parents are the best teachers when it comes to lessons outside of the classroom and one of the best things that we can teach our kids is the value of money and how we should handle it responsibly. Here are a few ideas to put you on the right track.

Teach them that money is the product of hard work and must not be taken for granted. If you have older kids, try and convince them to work or start their business in North Dakota craft shows. If your kids are a little younger, try giving them simple household responsibilities and then reward them for a job well done. Believe it or not, children tend to value money the worked hard for more than money they receive for doing nothing.

You can also discuss opening up a savings account in a bank for them. Tell all about the great things that they can get if they'll just save some of their money today. It enables them to buy bigger things in the future, and it also makes sure that they have some cash left when needed. Some banks even offer great options for young savers and this sure makes the notion of saving some money today one hell of a great idea.

Budget. Budget. Budget. There really is no underestimating the value of a great plan and a budget is just what your kids need to put all their spending in perspective. You can teach them how to do it, or join them in doing it by doing your household budget together with them. It's not the best family bonding idea, but you'll never know, right?

You should teach your kids the real deal on money today, before they start eating off their college allowance on expensive lattes and excessive shopping sprees. It's always never too late to start out money matter lessons, until of course, it is completely too late.

Google has taken a more aggressive approach to moving users away from Internet Explorer, recommending that Gmail users install Firefox or Chrome if they want to see Gmail run "an average of twice as fast." When you log into Gmail using Internet Explorer, you'll see a "Get faster Gmail" link in the set of links across the top of the page. If you follow the link in IE7, you'll find yourself at this page (pictured above), which claims that Gmail runs an average of twice as fast on Firefox 3 or Chrome than it does IE. Strangely enough, that same link in IE6 takes you to this page, which recommends upgrading to IE7—so you're in for a bit of a rollercoaster if you follow their suggestions. We practically never open up IE unless we have to around here, so we certainly can't say from experience that IE runs Gmail that much more slowly, so if you've got more experience switching between browsers with Gmail, share your experience in the comments.

Use Gmail space as a FREE Online File Storage Drive

Gmail offers more that 7 GB (And improving on daily basis) of free space so you don’t have to delete your emails and keep those attachments safe. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to fill up that much free space in years since it’s increasing on daily basis. So why not use that space as a medium of Free File Storage? - Gspace is a great plugin for firefox that turns that space into a Free file storage drive giving you the ability to upload your files just like you do it in FTP. It’s Interface is very simple and you won’t have any trouble upload your files. You can also create directories for your files, giving you more accessiblity and ease also giving you access to upload Multiple files to your Gmail Drive.

Here’s how it works:

1- Download Gpsace - Windows - Linux - Mac OS X

2- After downloading, install it and restart firefox. You’ll see a small blue Icon beside your other installed plugins.
3- Goto Tools and Click Gspace, you’ll see a new tab opened with it’s FTP look interface. On left side you’ll see the files stored on your computer and on the right side you’ll see Gpsace.

4- Click on Manage Accounts, enter your information.

5- Click Login on Top and it will ask you to enter your gmail password. (I would suggest that if you want to keep it all safe and don’t have a feeling that it might get hacked or anything, create a new Gmail Account and use it as a medium of Free Online Storage. After entering the password, you’ll see My Gspace and a empty directory. Another tip, If you are unable to login, goto your browser and login to your gmail account from there and you’ll see it working.

6- After you’ve logged in, you can create directories, Drag and Drop files there and convert your gmail space into a working, Free and Safe File Storage Drive.

Puzzle Extension Turns Any Web Image into a Game

Here's a fun extension from the experimental section of Mozilla's Firefox add-ons site. It's called Puzzle, and once installed lets you turn any image from a page you're on into a sectional puzzle with pieces that can be moved around. Upon completion you have the option to ramp up the difficulty, which goes all the way up to a 15x15 grid. It's also able to resize larger images into smaller, laptop-friendly versions.

To toggle it on you simply right click on an image and select which difficulty you want. It then opens up the image (in puzzle form) in a new tab.

I didn't have any luck getting it to work with Firefox 3.1 beta 2, however it worked fine in the current public build of Firefox 3. As with all experimental add-ons, you'll need to be registered with Mozilla to download it.

Virtual Desktops Double Your Workspace - FREE

Virtual desktops make it possible to enjoy the convenience of multiple desktops on your Windows computer screen, without the expense (or hassle) of using a multiple-monitor setup. Long enjoyed by Mac users and Linux fans, virtual desktops recently made it to Windows.

Best of all, with free product releases by Microsoft and Source Forge, you can enjoy the advantages of a multiple desktop environment at absolutely no charge.

A virtual desktop program allows you to open multiple desktops and operate different programs on each one. They enable you to group your work and cut down on clutter (and open windows) that often make it difficult to accomplish anything on your computer. For example: on one virtual desktop you might open all your email-related windows, while on another your display your word processor and desktop publishing programs to create a flyer. The two biggest advantages of operating with multiple virtual desktops: (1) less clutter and (2) greater organization.

Each virtual desktop software I tested gives you at least two different ways to quickly switch between multiple desktops. You either use a series of hot-keys (key combinations such as "ALT" + 1), or you use your mouse with a small clickable widget in your computer's task bar tray (lower right for most Windows users) to navigate between desktops.

Either way, once you get the hang of it, you'll find yourself switching between your new-found desktop real estate like an old pro.

In fact, the only disadvantage I found in using virtual desktops as opposed to multiple monitors is that you can't see all your open windows at the same time. But, is that really a disadvantage (since my head would explode looking at 2 or 3 monitors at the same time or trying to organize it all on the same desktop)?

After using a virtual desktop program on my own computer, I found myself falling into a few distinct patterns of use. I found that first thing in the morning I set up one desktop for "communications" with e-mail, instant messaging, news feeds and Skype account. Then, based on what I need to get accomplished during the day, I usually create another desktop for creative work like writing and researching with my word processor, mind mapping software, and other online research tools. Finally, I also create desktops based on specific situation, like when I need to create a video or do a webinar. I can open just the programs I need without cluttering up my mind or my desktop with things I don't need for the immediate task at hand.

As an aside: you can easily use v-desktops to hide your unauthorized computer use from your boss if he appears unexpectedly. Just pre-load one of your desktops with spreadsheets and "work" that makes you look like a dedicated employee. Then, when he pokes his head in your door, you can instantly swap over to the "work" desktop with a hot key when he walks by your cubicle! (Okay, maybe this last one's a little extreme.)

2 Free Options for Windows Users Desktops v1.0 by MicroSoft -

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/cc817881.aspx

This program runs in your system tray and is super-small in both file size and resources used. It allows up to 4 desktops to operate at a time. I did notice that my mouse scroll wheel did not work on any but the main desktop screen (a minor inconvenience, but still worth noting).

VirtuaWin - The Virtual Desktop Manager - http://virtuawin.sourceforge.net/

Another free program offered by Source Forge, Virtua-Win allows you to operate up to 9 desktops simultaneously. I couldn't determine if this software runs on Windows Vista or not (I don't operate a Vista machine). VirtuaWin is more configurable than the Microsoft Desktops software, offering not only more desktops, but also more options for hot keys to launch and switch between desktops.

Both software packages come free of charge and work with Windows XP. They rate a hard look if you find yourself either wishing you could organize your work better, or if you don't have the budget or space to allow a multi-monitor setup.

Url Revealer

Url shortening services like Tinyurl have seen an influx since the release of web services like Twitter. Twitter is a prime example as the services limits the amount of characters per message to 160 much like SMS on cell phones. Yes, you can write / send multiple messages but that’s not really the same, is it?

If you head over to Twitter and log into your account you most likely will see links of shortening services. While they make links shorter so that you can save chars they also hide the real address of the link which in its extreme could be used to lure users to a website they do not want to visit. This can have serious consequences depending on the location or place the links are accessed: Think of following a link leading to an adult site at work.

Long URL Please is a experimental Firefox extension that turns urls of shortening services to their original one. It currently supports about 30 different services with more being added regularly.

The developers have created a bookmarklet as well which can be used if you work with other web browsers. Some users have claimed that the extension dropped the performance while surfing while others have not experienced it. It might depend on the speed of the computer and Internet connection.

Tips For Parents On How To Handle Video Gaming

Gaming has taken root and there are no signs of the popularity abating. Children as well as adults are all hooked to computer and video gaming in a big way. And, the internet has added a dash of excitement into gaming as players can now not just play online but compete online.

The gaming world realizes that if they are to sustain a multi-billion dollar business they must care not just for the gamers but their parents too. The Entertainment Software Rating Board or ESRB has issued video gaming tips as a guide for parents. The ESRB is the one that tests video games and rates them so that parents can select suitable games for children of different age groups.

1. Parents must check the ratings and examine the rating symbol on the front of the package as well as read the content descriptor at the back when buying a game.

2. Never depend on advertisements, always talk to parents and older children to get an holistic view of the game you intend to buy.

3. Be a friend to your child and play the games with him or her. There is nothing like a hands on experience.

4. Beware of online gaming as very often the game has unrated components. Online gaming also has features like chats and exchange of ideas and information. Parents must teach their kids especially very young ones about the dangers lurking on the internet.

5. Learn all about downloadable mods that alter the content of games. Mods can change the appropriateness of the game for young players so parents must be vigilant.

6. Always invest in video game consoles and handhelds that have parental controls. This will enable you to limit the gaming content your children can access. Using parental controls will ensure that the children only play games that are appropriate to them.

7. Know your child’s nature and buy games that will nurture the child’s holistic growth. Games are known to have many benefits, us them to your advantage.

8. Know the games your kids play by reading their reviews online and joining gaming blogs and forum. Read game reviews and watch game trailers and demos.

9. Make time to interact with your children. Play games with them and teach them that gaming is not harmful if played right. Win their confidence so that they are open with you and share their fears and joys.

10. Take the kids to game expos and exhibitions. Learn all about the gaming world. Keep one step ahead at all times and your kids will be able to play games without any problems.

Gaming has taken root and there are no signs of the popularity abating. Children as well as adults are all hooked to computer and video gaming in a big way. And, the internet has added a dash of excitement into gaming as players can now not just play online but compete online.

The World Wide Web is a great information highway that has information about all games new and old. Make use of the knowledge to monitor your children’s gaming world.

Tips For Staying Healthy While Working At Home

If you're looking for ways to keep in shape while working from home, try some of these ideas:

Pace yourself.
Think of brisk walks and yoga as rewards for your work. One thing I like to do is go for a short walk after two or three hours of work. It wakes my brain back up and gets my blood flowing.

Fidget.
Although it may not be a substantial calorie-burner, fidgeting still does burn calories. Don't let yourself slump away on the couch with your laptop. Instead, remain upright at a desk and you'll find yourself fidgeting more frequently.

Stand for your calls.
I like to pace around the house when I'm on a call. It's a good opportunity for me to get away from my desk and stretch my muscles.

Don't munch.
Make specific time for food. Do not munch all day. When you're working, you're distracted from monitoring exactly how much food you're eating.

Take your eyes away from the computer.
I heard once that your eyes should be off of the computer screen ten minutes for every hour. And I believe it. If I stare at the computer for too long, my eyes feel strained and ache. Make time each hour to look at something else or, if you're so inclined, just close your eyes. This will prevent a lot of those headaches you've probably gotten from staring at the computer for too long.

It's not fair of us to lower our standard of health just because we're working at home. Doing something green, like working from home, shouldn't have to come at the price of our health, right? Fortunately it doesn't

6 Tips For High Quality Natural Skin Care

Natural skin care products are top sellers in the skin care market. More and more people are recognizing that the chemicals used in big brand name skin care products are not good for us, or our skin, and turning to natural alternatives, both for skin care products, hair care products and cosmetics.

Here’s 6 skin care tips for getting healthy good looking skin, for free. Because although the best natural skin care and anti aging products are spectacularly effective, there is more that you can do than just using organic skin care products.

1. Improve your diet.
Like it or not, our diet affects our entire body, and our skin. Our skin is an organ of our body like any other organ, and like the other organs our skin can get unhealthy from an unhealthy diet. But as everyone sees your skin it’s a highly visible result of a poor diet.

This applies to all skin types, whether you have oily skin or dry skin or or any skin type, poor diet will affect the health, and look, of your skin. Skip the burgers and pizzas in favor of fruit and vegetables and your skin will look way better, and you’ll be healthier.

2. Avoid big brand name cosmetics and skin care products.
These products, including such things as hair care treatments, hair removal treatments, popular cosmetics, many facial and body care products and more contain chemicals that can both be harmful to your health and also damaging to your skin. Ironically, skin care products and cosmetics can actually cause skin problems. Junk your big brand name products.

The author has personal experience with this. My young daughter was given traditional cosmetics by her ballet studio for her first ballet concert a few years ago, and immediately broke out in a nasty skin reaction. We now use our own (natural) cosmetics for her and there has been no repeat.

3. Make yourself stick to a regular exercise routine.
Exercise improves blood circulation, and this is good for your skin, and for your whole body. Exercise has so many benefits it’s hard to know where to start, and this includes improved skin health.

4. Pay attention to getting plenty of beneficial essential oils in your diet.
This includes omega 3 which comes from eating fish as well as some other foods. Omega 3 is good for your skin, and your overall health. You can get omega 3 from good (natural) supplements, but if you’re on a budget just find out which foods contain omega 3 and eat those. Do a little research and find a good source of omega 3 essential oil and include this in your diet regularly.

5. Drink plenty of water.
Your body, as well as your skin, needs to stay hydrated. If you don’t drink water this will impact your overall health as well as your skin health. Water is important for many things in your body, including skin health.

6. Start dry brush exfoliation.
It sounds complicated, but exfoliation is just using a soft, dry brush to gently brush your skin. Why would you want to brush your skin? Dry brush exfoliation helps remove the dead skin cells that all of us have on the surface of our skin.

And you don’t just brush the skin on your face either, you should brush your entire body. It is done by gently brushing in small circles from your feet right up to your face. Dry brush exfoliation also helps improve your blood circulation in your skin, and lymph circulation.

There’s 6 things you can do for free to help improve your skin beauty routine. In fact you can even save some money, for example fruits and vegetables are usually cheaper than burgers and pizzas. And if you regularly do these 6 things they will improve your skin health over time, and you will see the results. And your body will thank you for it with improved health overall.

One last thing. Once you’ve junked your big brand name skin care products and cosmetics and hair and facial and body care products, find some high quality natural skin care products. They work better than the big brand name products (many of which do nothing at all), and they are made from safe non allergenic ingredients. Science is finding answers to skin aging and skin health, and they come from safe plant extracts such as shea butter and natural keratin.

Stay health, stay fit and stay hydrated and your skin will do the same.

GPhotoSpace - Managing Photos in Gmail

Here is a very interesting little Firefox extension that caught my attention: GPhotoSpace. It requires Firefox 3 and leverages the 7GB+ of storage space that you currently get with a Gmail account for an online photo storage repository. I am constantly surprised that people still stick with the many free online storage accounts that only provide 1GB of capacity. You can get 50GB of free capacity with ADrive, and the 7GB+ you get with Gmail is generous compared to other free e-mail providers. GPhotoSpace does a nice job--within Firefox--of enhancing your Gmail account with photo album creation, uploading, and sharing features.

I happen to be using the latest beta of Firefox 3.1 at the moment, so I was a little worried that GPhotoSpace only worked with Firefox 3, which is true for many extensions. However, I successfully got it running in a minute or so. Once installed, you can launch the application from Firefox's Tools menu or by putting a small camera icon on your toolbar.

After I restarted Firefox, GPhotoSpace prompted me to log into my Gmail account. Once inside, I had several links to choose from for creating albums, sending albums to others, deleting albums, maintaining an album inbox and more. All the images are stored by Google as part of your Gmail account.

I use Flickr for working with photos frequently, and it can be very slow during peak times during the day. Uploading photos and working with albums looks easy enough with GPhotoSpace that I'll probably use it in conjunction with Flickr. I'll update this post tomorrow with more on the upload speeds GPhotoSpace gives me during peak hours, when Flickr sometimes slows down. Note that you can watch a demo of GPhotoSpace and download it here (for Windows or the Mac).

If you use this extension, I would recommend setting up a dedicated, free Gmail account for photos. The files are large in size and you don't want them encroaching on your regular e-mail.

5 Surefire Ways to Prevent Weight Gain During the Christmas Holidays

Here is the 5 sure fire ways to help you prevent weight gain before the New Year. This is the busiest period where everybody gets really busy with the Christmas preparation and easily the time many people would fall off the wagon and start gaining weight. People are trading in their workout commitment for more time for Christmas errands and events. Don't let that be you. Why? It is a huge mistake to risk losing the lean muscle mass and strength that you have worked so hard to gain. Your resting metabolism rate accounts for 60-75% of your total daily calorie intake and losing lean muscle mass will actually lower your resting metabolism rate which in turn will cause your body to burn less and less calories day by day. This means that you will be at a greater risk of easily gaining excess weight on your body. Plus, losing the strength will mean your performance will be sub par the next time when you get back to work out and you will find it a lot harder to gain your strength back than to lose it! So should you resign yourself to eminent weight gain that seems to affect everyone? Not really because there are smart and effective ways, both from exercise and daily activities, to help you maintain and stay in tip top shape during the Christmas holidays. Just follow the simple strategies below to prevent the dreadful holiday bloat!

1) Accumulate your workout throughout the day

The number one excuse most people have is not having enough time to do exercise. Often times, people will say they don't even have 20 minutes for exercise. Well no more! When it comes to expending calories, your body cannot recognize difference between 100 squats done in a row or 100 squats done in a day. I'm sure you can get quite a few free moments throughout the day like waiting between the time after you put in the turkey into the oven and taking it out. You will be surprised how many free moments you have in a day that you can sneak in something like 10 squats, 10 burpees, 10 pushups and 10 rows. Using these method throughout the day will lead to big numbers and results in more calorie burning and lean muscle building effects. Have a target! Go for 100 squats, 100 pushups and 100 burpees or something else.

2) Do multi-joint compound movement exercises

Forget about doing all your time-wasting biceps curls, triceps extensions/French curls or shoulder lateral raises. They are termed singled-joint movement exercises because the movement occurs in only one joint. The problem with single-joint exercises is that it would be very time consuming to perform all the single-joint exercises required to get a whole body workout.

3) Perform at least a intense strength training workout once a week

Studies show that one intense strength workout a week is enough to help maintain your current strength and lean muscle mass. For maximum fat burning effects, perform three full body strength training sessions per week and three cardio interval training sessions on non strength-training days.

4) Be on your feet most of the time Stop using all the machines that has made us all incredibly all of shape and overweight. You should still drive to the shopping malls and do your Christmas shopping. But you can certainly find opportunities to burn more calories by parking your car further away from the shopping malls, forgoing the escalators or lifts and walk more on your feet. And carry your own shopping bags for more calories consumption!

5) Engage in more outdoor holiday activities

If you're in the hot summer of Australia, and heading to the beach for some social outing during the Christmas holidays, don't just lie around and drink your booze. Have some fun by bringing a football or volleyball and played some games or just get into the water and have a swim. Talk about burning awesome amount of calories without thinking about it! Or if you're in the cold winter in the northern hemisphere, get into some fun-filled moment snow fight with your friends!

Strategies To Increase Traffic To Your Website

Your online business will only succeed if you learn how to drive targeted traffic to your site or affiliate link. Without traffic, a website will not attract visitors and potential customers. You can have the best product or service and the best looking Web site but if nobody hears about it then it the business will not succeed

You can learn to drive traffic to your website on for free or on any budget; this article will outlines many essential ways that can be used to get traffic to your site.

1. Provide fresh, unique and useful content on your website. The reason people go online is to find information that they are interested in and also to purchase products. It is therefore important for you to have high quality and unique content on your website or blog so that visitors will spend more time and possibly bookmark and come back for more information. In addition, if you regularly update your content you will be considered as an expert in your niche, and you will therefore build trust with your readers that will eventually result in sales.

2. Optimize your website for search engines. In order for your site to be found on the search engines when people are looking for information, make sure that your niche keywords and phrases are in your headlines and in the rest of the content on your website. This means that your website will show up and will rank high when people look for those keywords on your website. Having targeted keywords as part of your content will drive more traffic to your website.

3. Get traffic to your website using PPC (Pay per Click) advertising. If you have the money to pay for the advertising, you can run an advert with Google Adwords or Yahoo to drive traffic to your website. Use this with caution though as it can end up costing quite a bit if you're not experienced with Google Adwords. Do your research first

4. Write and submit articles. This is also a very powerful tool for getting targeted traffic to your website. In all your articles, make sure you have a resources box or author's biography which will your website's URL. After reading your article, people will want to visit your website, so the more articles you write the more traffic you will drive to your website. There are many Article directories that you can submit to free of charge. Ezine Articles is one of them.

5. Participate in targeted forums. This is one of the most effective ways of driving targeted traffic to your site. Make useful posts in the forums that are related to your niche, and have your website link in your signature.

6. Use viral marketing to drive traffic to your site. Write free e-books or short reports with a link to your website. Have a link to your website on your blog and on any press release that you write. These will drive traffic as well.

7. Use video marketing to drive traffic to your sites. You can create a video about your product or service that you offer on your website and post that on YouTube. Add your website link on that video, and this will make sure that people who view your video will also visit your website. By following the seven tips outline above, you can drive a lot of traffic to your website, boost your sales and grow your online business profits.

There are many more ways to get noticed online but these will give you a great start.

Good luck

How Diabetes Affects Your Feet Can Prevent an Amputation

Shouldn't every diabetic know the details so that amputations could be prevented?

With each and every new patient with diabetes, they either fully comprehend the risks of diabetes to their feet (very rare) or they have no clue (very common). With every one of these folks I feel that the one goal is to get them to understand that diabetic foot problems are optional.

Diabetes can be a tough disease to deal with. Your doctor starts telling you what to eat, telling you to exercise, lecturing about heart attacks. Then you are at home learning about blood sugar monitoring, taking medicine, pricking your finger every day. People will say, "Now I gotta think about my feet too? Seems like such a hassle."

And it is.

But the good news in all of this is that everything bad that can happen to you because of diabetes is preventable. Everything. All it takes is a little learning, a little lifestyle change, and little daily effort. The goal is to get you to understand the basics of how diabetes can affect your feet...so you can do something about it.

When you have diabetes you have three main problems, all working together and conspiring against you, that can lead to a diabetic foot amputation. It involves your nerves, blood flow and immune system.

When your blood sugar is high, there is a chemical reaction that directly damages the ends of the longest nerves in your body. The longest ones start in your back (where they exit the spine) and head all the way down to the toes in one long piece. Because the ends get damaged first, any nerve damage starts in the toes and gradually creeps up the foot toward the ankles.

It is always damaged at the same level in both feet. For example, if you have nerve damage (neuropathy) at the ball of the foot, the nerve damage is only in the toes. In this case the arches and heels might be fine.

Neuropathy makes it hard for you to tell if you are getting a blister or an open sore, and puts you at risk for problems. It is deceptive because you might be able to feel other things like the position of your feet, shoes and socks squeezing, but not a blister, cut or sore.

The second problem is the circulation or blood flow in the feet and legs. The arteries get clogged faster when you have diabetes. If you take two people who are identical, except one is diabetic, the one who is diabetic is four times more likely to have a heart attack. That is because of the increased rate of clogging up those arteries through the process called atherosclerosis. But this process happens everywhere, not just the heart. The blood vessels to the legs get plugged up too. Then, when you get a sore it takes longer to heal. It is also harder for your infection fighting white blood cells to get down there.

The last problem is your immune system. When your blood sugar is high, the white blood cells (called macrophages) have a hard to time fighting off those nasty bacteria. The white macrophages find bacteria through a process called chemotaxis. It is like following a trail of chemicals to its source. This is not very effective when the blood sugar is elevated. In effect, the macrophages are lost in the dark, simply bumping around, hoping stumble into some bacteria to kill. Very inefficient and not very effective.

Once they do find the bacteria they have a bigger problem. The high blood sugar prevents them from eating the bacteria. The process where the white blood cells engulf the bacteria (called phagocytosis) is essentially disabled. So they bump up against they bacteria, but can't do anything. Imagine a great white shark with his mouth wired shut trying to eat a smaller fish for dinner. Because of all of this, the immune system is ineffective, the bacteria continue to grow and the infection quickly gets out of hand.

So a diabetic amputation goes something like this. You get a little nerve damage, can't feel a blister starting when you are walking at the mall, and it pops. Just like that, you have an open sore. Your blood flow is a little sluggish and it takes a long time to heal. Then it gets infected while it is trying to heal. If your blood sugar is high, all of those sharks are wandering around in the dark, mouths wired shut, and the infection spreads.

If it spreads enough, one of the foot bones gets infected. And a bone infection is the kiss of death for the diabetic foot. The only reliable way to heal a bone infection in an adult diabetic is to remove the infected bone. And that is where the amputation begins.

The moral of the story is watch your blood sugar, and your nerve damage will never get any worse. If you walk 30 minutes a day, fives days a week, your blood flow will never get any worse. If you have any nerve damage, you need close monitoring by a diabetic foot expert. If you ever get any open sore, blister or ingrown toenail it is an emergency...no joke. Get that foot checked out or it might get chopped off!

Cocaine Treatment

Cocaine is a powerfully seductive drug that has robbed many people of parts of their life. Although some people can still function at a high level even under its influence, this usually is a mask disguising other underlying issues. It can impact your work life, relationships, family, and even your interest in new things or life in general. For this reason, many people enter a cocaine treatment program to get the help they need. Here, we take a look at how this may help you and what you can expect to find:

1. Learn To Live Without Cocaine.

One of the things all drug treatment programs have in common is they teach the person that they can live without the drug. Initially, patients go through a detox program where the body is helped by being purified of the bad toxins. This allows the person to physically be free of the control of cocaine. Then, the patient enters a standard treatment program where they focus on the person's mind. Here, the patient is taught that they can live without the drug and is also taught how to avoid the situations that have brought on drug abuse in the past.

2. Address The Underlying Issues Of The Addiction.

For many people, cocaine abuse hides other problems of the person. These can take on the form of emotional, behavioral, or psychological issues. The key for lasting recovery is to help uncover these issues and start creating and following a plan to help address them. This can be very therapeutic in allowing the person to address his/her issues rather than using drugs to mask them.

3. Focus Day By Day For Long Term Recovery.

One thing all patients learn is that one will always be an addict. They will discover that they will have to deal with the addiction on a daily basis. However, managing these addictions is possible through quality counseling and help. In addition, by taking a day by day focus, many people are able to discover they can be very successful in finding long term relief.

Although the journey to recovery may not be an easy one, for those who are able to get any kind of relief, they have found it is more than worthwhile. A quality cocaine treatment program helps give them back the one thing they value most: their life.

Keys To Acheiving Fitness And The Body And Life You Want

Acheiving fitness and the body you want and eventually through that, acheiving the life that you want is an art in itself. The following article should really help in being successful in achieving this and, also in acheiving and reaching other life changing goals. Have fun.

The following traits are written out in order. Anotherwords, you need to work on the first one before the second one. But you can work on them around the same time.

Self value

Maintaining self value is hard for some especially moms and dads. Because our society where, once we are parents we, somehow are not suppose to put ourselves first. We are supposed to be selfless often to the point were we have to prove our worth to our friends and peers.

The only thing I can say about that is, that when the plane is going down, mom or dad needs to put the oxygen mask on themselves before their kids, in order to save their kids. We are only as good as our weakest player. And when WE are the weakest player, everyone in the family suffers, especailly kids. It is a heavy burden for kids to be the only reason for your existance.

To live for your kids is great but not through your kids. There is nothing noble about sacrificing their mommys health, spirit, and well being. I for one want to inspire by example and show my daughter especailly, that you can do, be and get what you intend to in life. I want to walk my talk and I want them to also.

So, I would say to value yourself and take care of yourself first. Feel good at most costs because that energy really does rub off. There is nothing more depressing for a child than a depressed mom who has lost all her will and drive.

Focus

Someone once told me and I will never forget this, that we are not really in need of more time nowadays... We are in need of more focus. And that the trick and key to success in a shorter period of time, is not that we get distracted, but that we don't re-engage our focus fast enough when we do get distracted.

I would say that to do this takes practice. You need to meditate on re-engaging your focus and expediting your time. All of this takes patients and practice and there is nothing wrong with meditating and visualization to practice focus. So, as far as meditating on focus, there are exercises that help develop focus and it does take practice.

Meditation done right, does not just happen and most people don't put enough importance on this subject when in regard to physical pursuits. Personally I would say that this is a must. You can actually find meditations and visualization exercises on exercise and focus if you google Gina Cools articles. That would be me.

Discipline

Being disciplined takes focus and self value. If you have those two things you are ahead of the game. Once you can re-engage in your goals and focus in, you have more of a chance to create discipline because you won't forget what your goals are as easily. You can refocus and you know it.

One thing that you can do now is consciously put yourself in a position where you have to deny yourself and follow thru with it. For instance, make a cake and don't lick the spoon with your kids if that is what you usually do. Or, don't eat off your kids leftovers, which is really a common thing overweight people do because they don't want something to go to waste. Rather than wrapping it up and putting it in the refridgerator.

So, try little exercises like that, that make sense to you. They are pretty easy to come up with and don't take a lot of time. Most importantly, they give you more confidence in the area of discipline.

Persistence.

As far as persistence...something that works for me is, saying things like, "I am more fit and weigh less today than yesterday." This really helps me to keep it going when times get tough or just long and drawn out.

When I am afraid of failure and can't get across my impatience I just remember that to just wait it out after the work is fine and a trick to this is to know when you wait and know that your work is finished and now that is just a matter of time before you will see results.

Then create a list of items that need to be done to get to the next goal. Set your objectives down and it will go that much faster. And again visualize your successes. This helps you maintain your mindset.

Taking Ownership

Be the owner of your results and your goals not somebody elses. The minute you take ownership of someone elses results is when you lose control of your own. You simply cannot concentrate your efforts in both directions. One will eventually cancel the other one out. You need to focus your energy inward and visualize your own success and be the boss of you. Once you really do is when you can then be empowered to engage in more powerful situations.

Never ever listen to other peoples goals, or worry about their results or feel that they are taking away from you because of thier goals or results.

Results

Again, you need to know when you achieved your outcome and not beat a dead horse or waste time reinventing the wheel.

For instance, when you lose the weight you want to lose, you need to focus on the next thing, rather than spending time on more diets or new and improved calorie counters.

You lost the weight. Be happy and move on to the next thing.

This goes for your other personal and professional goals as well.

Focus on People

When I was a kid, people constantly told me that I was a people person. I thought that that was a worthless trait and didn't really do or mean anything. I was wrong.

It turns out, that trait is one of the things if not the most important thing that got me results in my biggest and most complicated goals. It is also now a fun trait to have and to work on.

Every successful person understands they need a team and that her success comes with and through other people.

A successful person will recognize these individuals and appreciate them for their talents and let them do their jobs. A successful person will hire the right trainer or dieticain and recognize their abilities. They will also do their homework and listen. He will also assume complete responsibility for things not working, and not blame the other person. Rather, he will know that the person was good enough to do their job, and it was he who did not follow thru.

These traits if worked on a daily basis by reminding yourself of them, and reading this article for awhile once a day. And then by meditating and visualizing yourself aquiring these traits will come. And with them, a whole new world will open up for you. Take one day at a time, and continue the fun but hard work.

Antioxidants & Free Radicals

Antioxidants are much involved in preventing cellular damage that is responsible for aging, cancer, and a host of other diseases.

Free radicals are actually atoms or groups of atoms having an odd (or unpaired) number of electrons and are formed on the interaction of oxygen with certain molecules. Once formed, they begin a chain reaction and being highly reactive, react with important cellular components such as the cell membrane or DNA and can cause immense damage. This may cause the cells to function poorly or die. To prevent the damage caused by free radicals there is a defence system of antioxidants in the body.

Antioxidants are also molecules that safely react with free radicals and terminate the chain reaction before vital cellular components are damaged. Vitamin E, vitamin C and beta-carotene are the principle micronutrients that restrict the free radicals from reacting and causing damage.

Selenium, a trace metal required for the functioning of one the antioxidant enzyme systems body is sometimes also included in this category. These micronutrients have to be supplied to the body through the diet as it is not manufactured by the body.

Vitamin E: This is a fat soluble vitamin and is present in seeds, nuts, fish oils, vegetables, whole grains (especially wheat), apricots and fortified cereals. The current recommended daily allowance or RDA is 12 IU per day for women and 15 IU per day for men.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C or Ascorbic acid is a vitamin that is water soluble and is present in juices and citrus fruits, cabbage, spinach, green peppers, broccoli, cantaloupe, kale, kiwi and strawberries. 60 mg is the RDA per day. Intake of more than 2000 mg of this vitamin may have adverse side effects.

Beta-carotene is vitamin A's precursor (retinol) and is present in egg yolk, liver, butter, milk, carrots, spinach, broccoli, squash, yams, peaches, tomato, cantaloupe, and grains. On account of it being converted to vitamin A there is no specific requirement in the body. The RDA is expressed as retinol equivalents (RE). Vitamin A does not have any antioxidant properties and can be toxic if taken in excess.

Preventing heart disease and cancer - how do antioxidants help?

Epidemiologic observations demonstrate lower rates of cancer in people having diets that are rich in vegetables and fruits. Because of this fact, a theory developed stating that these foods contained certain substances that acted against the development of cancer, but there is no scientific evidence to prove this fact.

Thus some studies and research reveal that dietary supplements along with increased level of antioxidants reduce the risk of developing cancer. Antioxidants may have a role top plat in slowing process of aging and preventing strokes, and heart disease but this is still not conclusive.

Exercise and oxidative damage

Exercise increases oxygen utilization 10 to 20 times more than in the resting state. This increases the generation of free radicals greatly which then prompts concerns about damage to tissues and muscles. The question that now arises is that how effectively can athletes defend their bodies against the increased free radicals that result from exercise? Do they require taking extra antioxidants?

Since it is not possible to measure the amount of free radicals in the body physically; this can be done by measuring the by-products resulting from free radical reactions. If the free radicals exceed the antioxidant defense mechanisms of the body then there would be more by-products. Athletes are seen to perform these measurements to enable derive at the free radical amount.

These experimental studies have revealed certain facts that regular physical exercise enhances the antioxidant defense system of the body and protects it against intense exercise induced free radical damage. This is a vital finding because it illustrates the smartness of the body in adapting to the exercise demands.

On the contrary, intense exercise patterns among untrained individuals induce damage to antioxidant defenses resulting in enhanced free radical damage.

Tips For Healthy Eyes

It is actually the world for us. Unfortunately, we don’t thank it enough. We have cosmetics for the face, shampoos for the scalp and gyms for the physique… but we usually don’t give eyecare a second glance.
Maybe it’s time for a change of view by following the peeper-caring steps below. With some habit alterations and a bit of self care, our eyes will feel like they’ve gone through a spring bath.

Bonus: It doesn’t cost a dime in salon treatments or cucumber slices.

Water the optics.
Like our organs our eyes too need all the water it can get. Not for the tears, but just to keep its ducts moist and hydrated. So drink plentiful of H2O for well hydrated eyes. This is more true for today’s air conditioned offices.

Grab some shuteye.
Our eyes remain open for the waking hours. Reinvigorate the vision orbs by grabbing a good night’s sleep.

The Modern Day Vision Buster – The Computer
Our forefathers roamed the wilds with there eyes set on the hunt. We spend our days sitting fixed in place infront of our computers. At the end of the day we don’t have a carcass, but something else to show for our efforts – Computer fatigue.
The result for many: computer fatigue syndrome. It causes not only eyestrain but also wooziness, headaches, weariness, and neck, back, and shoulder pain.

Always blink first.
If it’s a staring contest with the computer, let the machine win. Long hours spent in front of the screen make for tired eyes. Stare away after every 10 minutes or so and focus on some distant object. The color green, they say soothes the eye. Give your body and eyes a break by walking away from the desk every 20 minutes. And to help keep your eyes moist - blink often.

Check the ambient light.
Direct light on your computer screen gets reflected back and increases the harshness of the glare. Mimic natural light by moving the light source to a point where the light does not fall directly on the screen.

The 3 R’s of computer vision.
Remember the three rules to fight computer fatigue – RESET (your screen refresh rates to 70 GHz or more), REFOCUS (your eyes, every few minutes) and REMOVE (your body from the desk, now and then)

Palm the eyes
An exercise you can do sitting at your desk. Rub the palms together and place them against your eyes. The warmth from the palm soothes your eyes and helps them to relax. Cup your eyes for 60 seconds and repeat the technique 3 to 4 times. Relaxing those tired eyes somehow has a way of relaxing our mind too.

The ‘not so secret’ diet
Get those vitamins (A, C, and E) onto your lunch plate. Citrus fruits, carrots, green leafy veggies, spinach, poultry, egg and milk make for a wholesome eye-care diet.

The secret to healthy eyes is not in expensive creams and lotions but more in simple habit make ups. Beauty may lie in the eye of the beholder, but we have to watch over it first.
