JVC claims world’s lightest TV

What monicker would you like to go by? World’s thinnest? World’s biggest? How about the world’s lightest? That last one is what JVC’s claiming that its latest telly is. In fact it’s saying it’s so light that you can hang it from the ceiling.

So how light can an LCD be? Well, this 32-incher from JVC is only 5kg. That’s the same as five 1kg bags of flour (oh yes Math fans, we’ve been doing our Brain Training). Aside from being as light as a heavy feather, what else does this TV have to whet our gadget appetites? Well, with liquid crystal display technology and a 1080p resolution it’ll throw out spiffy-looking pictures on it’s 7mm-thin screen.

It’s also eco-friendly, using half the amount of materials manufacturers normally use to make a television, and less mercury. All of which means you’ll be (sort of) saving the planet whilst watching the latest goings-on in Home and Away. And that can’t be bad, can it?
